HOW TO AVOID BECOMING A VICTIM OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING?

"Human trafficking" is the recruiting of victims, kidnapping random people, but also targets people who appear weak, lost and confused. This can be prevented by:

  • being in constant contact with family and friends, informing them of your current location and keeping them updated when changes occur

  • making sure that the offered salary is not too attractive compared to market rates offered by other employers and agencies for the same position;
  • making sure whether the working conditions, accommodation and duties declared by the employer are not suspiciously attractive;
  • always staying in a group when using private transportation offered by random people;
  • writing down or taking a photograph of the registration number of the vehicle you are traveling in and if possible sending it to family and friends.

Teach your child basic personal details and a contact number to parents / guardians and explain how to behave in the following situations:

  • when being in a crowd or strange environment when a child is being called by a parent / guardian, he should approach him immediately; 
  • when a child can’t  see his  parent(s), he  should call out loudly for them;
  • when another adult tries to take them away, he should shout loudly and protest;
  • when a child sees a policeman after such an incident, report  immediately what happened.

Children are curious about the world, unaware of the basic dangers thus:

  • sew a "tag" with contact details into the child's clothing with the parents / guardians name /phone number/contact number and the basic information about the child ;
  • put on the child's wrist a "non-lost" armband or other such gadget, where the parent's / guardian's contact details should be saved;
  • determine a potential meeting place with the child and make them aware that they should wait there, and not look for an adult on their own.

  • you should take care of your luggage, have it with you and not leave it unattended;
  • in the car, do not leave valuables in plain view.

 

 

HOW TO FIGHT INTERNET AND VERBAL HATE?

Regardless of gender, religion, beliefs, language or origin, we all have the right to our otherness and we have a right to have it respected. Hate speech is offensive messages directed against another person as aggressive spoken words as well  as posted on the Internet. The victim of hate or witnesses of it must not ignore it.

It  should be reported to law enforcement authorities.

In public places, it is prohibited to:

  • consume alcohol
  • litter
  • use coarse language
  • smoke cigarettes in places where people gather

Road speed limits in Poland are:

  • from dusk to dawn use low  beam lights
  • from dawn to dusk, in conditions of normal air transparency, the vehicle driver may use daytime lights instead of low beam lights; 
  • seat belts must be worn, transport children up to 150 cm tall in a safety seat or other restraint;

  • the vehicle must have fire extinguishers and a warning triangle. It is also recommended that there is a first aid kit and a reflective vest;
  • the permissible blood alcohol content (BAC) in the body while driving is less than 0.2 per mille;
  • follow instructions  given by a policeman. Failure to stop for a police inspection is a serious crime.
